Best apps for a Spanish tutor or live Spanish classes

Preply or italki for one-to-one lessons with a Spanish tutor you choose, from the country whose Spanish you want to learn; Lingoda for small live classes that follow a syllabus from A1 to B2; Yabla Silver for as many group classes as you like, at one monthly price.

Prices checked 6 Sept to 13 Oct 2026 · How we check

What you book in Spanish, and what it costs

Each app's own description of a lesson, and its price for Spanish where it states one. A marketplace's figure is its own rate for Spanish tutors; the tutor you pick sets the real price.

5 of the 52 apps we cover sell time with a Spanish teacher.

A tutor is the one way to choose whose Spanish you learn: on a marketplace you pick the person, and with them the country. Three things are sold. A marketplace (Preply, italki) lists tutors who set their own price per lesson. A school (Lingoda) puts you in a live class of 3 to 5 students, or a private one, on a syllabus by level. A video app (Yabla) adds live group classes to its Spanish plans, with private classes on the dearer ones. Choose the shape first, then the teacher.

Every app with a Spanish teacher, compared

Grouped by type of app; among the tutors and classes, the two marketplaces first, then Lingoda. Sort any column or filter by what matters to you.

Which to choose

You want one teacher, and to choose whose Spanish you learn

Preply or italki

Preply says its Spanish tutors come from Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Venezuela and other Spanish-speaking countries; their prices start at $3 and average $17 for a 50-minute lesson, sold in a plan that renews. On italki each lesson is priced on its own: Spanish teachers cost $4 to $60 an hour, and a 30-minute lesson typically $4 to $10. On both you read a tutor's profile, and can book a trial lesson, before you commit.

You want a class with a syllabus and a timetable

Lingoda

Lingoda is an online school: 60-minute live classes on Zoom, in a group of 3 to 5 students or private, with native-speaker teachers, following its own Spanish curriculum from A1 to B2. Group classes are sold as a plan that renews every four weeks, €54.99 for four classes as its page showed the price in euros, and the 7-day free trial covers 3 group classes or 1 private class.

You want to speak as often as you like, for one price

Yabla Silver

Yabla teaches with real videos, and for Spanish only its Live plans add classes: Silver gives unlimited group classes for $59 a month, or $420 a year. Gold, $79 a month, adds two private one-on-one classes a month and Platinum, $99, four, each followed by the tutor's notes in Spanish. Every plan includes the video library, with a 7-day free trial for new users.

You already practise with Langua's AI

LanguaTalk

Langua's makers run LanguaTalk, a separate marketplace of human tutors. Each tutor sets a price per lesson, and LanguaTalk says its Spanish tutors typically charge $10 to $25 an hour. It is not part of a Langua Pro subscription.

You want to talk with native speakers for free

HelloTalk or Tandem, between lessons

Neither is a tutor. HelloTalk and Tandem pair you, free, with native Spanish speakers who are learning your language, by text, voice or video. They suit practice between lessons; nobody plans what you learn.

Questions people ask

How much does an online Spanish tutor cost?

On Preply, Spanish tutors' prices start at $3 and average $17 for a 50-minute lesson. On italki, Spanish teachers cost $4 to $60 an hour, and a 30-minute lesson typically $4 to $10. LanguaTalk says its Spanish tutors typically charge $10 to $25 an hour. Lingoda's classes and Yabla's Live plans are sold by the month, not by the lesson.

Can I choose a tutor from Mexico or from Spain?

On a marketplace, yes: you choose the tutor. Preply says its Spanish tutors come from Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Venezuela and other Spanish-speaking countries, and on italki you read each teacher's profile before you book. Lingoda's classes are with different teachers and classmates each time, and its Spanish page does not say whether they follow Spain's or Latin American Spanish; Yabla's plans page does not say either.

Can I try a Spanish tutor before paying?

Preply's trial lesson is paid, with up to two free replacements if it does not suit you; italki's trial lessons are discounted, with up to two credit refunds; Lingoda's 7-day free trial covers 3 group classes or 1 private class; Yabla's plans start with a 7-day free trial for new users.
