Is Gymglish worth it?

Yes, if you will do one short lesson a day for months, enjoy learning through a story with some humour, and want every answer corrected and the next lesson built on your mistakes.

What it costs. A year costs $288 ($24 a month).

What's free. No free tier; a 7-day free trial with no commitment to buy. After you pay, its terms give 14 days from the order to withdraw for a refund, only if you have not used the lessons.

Skip it if you want to stop paying whenever you like: a subscription from Gymglish's website commits you to its whole length, 6 to 36 months, even when you pay month by month, and turning off renewal only stops the next term.

What learners rate it. 4.6 out of 5 from 218 ratings in Apple's US App Store and 4.6 from 5,980 on Google Play, checked 16 Oct 2026.

How a Gymglish lesson works

What you do
Open the day's episode of your story, read or listen to it and answer the questions on it, then get it back corrected, with your score, explanations and the words you asked to review. After the episode, talk with the story's hero through Aimigo, aloud or in writing.
What comes back
Automatic: each lesson comes back corrected, with your score, explanations and the words you asked to review. Aimigo, the AI you talk to after the episode, corrects you when you ask it to. No person checks your work.
Not included
A live teacher.

How a lesson works in a course app

In a course app you read or hear a short dialogue, fill in the missing word, and a grammar note explains why. Drawn to explain the kind of app, not taken from any app's screens.

Plans and prices

Every consumer plan on Gymglish's own pricing page or app-store listing, in US dollars unless marked. Per month is the plan price divided by its term. Where the seller shows a crossed-out price beside the one it charges, the figure is the one it charges, and the plan's note gives the crossed-out price.

CEFR levels A1 to C2 (beginner courses for English, French and Spanish; the main courses run from A2)
What it is Course app. One short lesson a day, about 10 minutes, built around an episode of a comic story series in the language (Perfume California for English, Frantastique for French, Hotel Borbollón for Spanish, Wunderbla for German, Saga Baldoria for Italian), followed by comprehension, vocabulary and grammar questions, a cultural excerpt from a film, series or song, revision of earlier points and a personalised correction with your score. Lessons arrive by email or in the app; the next one comes only when you have answered the last. The first lessons assess your level, and a pedagogical assessment on the CEFR scale follows after 7 lessons. After each episode you can talk, aloud or in writing, with the story's hero through Aimigo, an AI chat built on large language models. Beginner courses are sold for English, French and Spanish; the main courses run from A2 to C2. Explanations are kept in the language you learn as far as possible.
