How to cancel Cambly
Cambly gives you two ways out. To stop future charges and keep taking lessons until the plan ends, turn off renewal in Account Settings, under Subscription. To end the plan now, submit a request to Cambly's support: you pay the full monthly price for the days used, lose any long-plan discount and the lessons left, and get back the rest, if anything. On a first plan, a request within 7 days gets a full refund.
Two ways to stop Cambly
Turn off renewal (keep your lessons until the plan ends)
- Open the Subscription section of your Account Settings.
- Click Cancel under the Renewal section.
You can still take lessons until the plan expires, but lessons booked for dates after that are cancelled, and that can't be undone. To renew after all, click Turn on before the plan expires.
End the plan now (a request to Cambly's support)
- Log in to your Cambly account.
- Go to the main Help Center page and click Submit a Request at the bottom.
- Select Managing Account as the topic.
- Fill out the form, with why you want to cancel.
Cambly says its team answers within 1 business day. If you have never taken a lesson, say so in the request.
Before you cancel
A pause of 1 to 4 weeks
Your lessons don't expire, and the plan's end date moves back automatically.
A smaller plan
If the cost is the problem, you can switch to a smaller plan.
After you cancel
- Once a cancellation is processed, any lesson time left is forfeited, and lessons scheduled for later are cancelled; Cambly suggests using them before the cancellation is confirmed.
- The discount you bought the plan with is lost and does not carry over: a new plan is priced at the listed rate of the day.
Getting money back
- End a plan early and you pay the full monthly price for the days it was active, from the purchase date to your request; the refund is what you paid minus that cost.
- If the days used cost more at full price than you paid, there is no refund; Cambly suggests turning off renewal and taking your lessons until the plan expires instead.
- First plan: ask within 7 days of its start date and Cambly refunds it in full, even if you have taken lessons.
- Ask from the email address on your account. Ending the plan stops Cambly's own installment charges; if your bank paid Cambly upfront and bills you in installments, ask your bank how it handles the refund.
Questions people ask
Does Cambly refund unused lessons?
Cambly works a refund out from the days used, not the lessons: you pay the full monthly price for the days the plan was active and get back the rest of what you paid, if anything. Lessons left are forfeited once the cancellation is processed. A first plan cancelled within 7 days is refunded in full.
How do I stop Cambly from renewing?
In Account Settings, under Subscription, click Cancel under Renewal. You keep taking lessons until the plan expires, and can turn renewal back on before then.
Can I pause Cambly instead of cancelling?
Yes, for 1 to 4 weeks: your lessons don't expire, and the plan's end date moves back automatically.
