How to cancel LingoDeer
Cancel LingoDeer where you paid: on an iPhone, in Settings under your name and Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play's subscriptions; with PayPal, under Manage automatic payments in your PayPal settings; for a card payment on lingodeer.com, by email to [email protected]. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel. An annual, 3-year or 6-year plan bought on the website has a 7-day money-back guarantee.
Where did you subscribe?
In your iPhone's or iPad's settings (paid in the App Store)
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap your LingoDeer subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
A monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual plan renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal time.
In Google Play (paid on Android)
- Open the Google Play Store on your phone or tablet.
- Check that you're signed in to the Google account you bought the membership with.
- Tap Menu, then Subscriptions.
- Select your LingoDeer subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the instructions.
In PayPal (paid on lingodeer.com with a PayPal account)
- Go to paypal.com or the PayPal app and log in.
- Click the Settings icon at the top right, then Payments.
- Click Manage automatic payments.
- Under Show Active, find LINGODEER PTE. LTD and click Cancel.
Once it is cancelled, LINGODEER PTE. LTD shows under Show Inactive. Paid with PayPal Guest Pay and made a PayPal account later? The subscription does not move across: email [email protected] to cancel.
By email (paid on lingodeer.com by card, or with PayPal Guest Pay)
- Email [email protected] asking to cancel your subscription.
- Give your LingoDeer UID and the email address you bought with.
- If you paid with PayPal Guest Pay, add the PayPal transaction ID if you have it.
Deleting the app or your account, trials and long plans
Uninstalling or deleting your account doesn't cancel
LingoDeer says uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription, and neither does deleting your account. If you delete your account without cancelling and are charged, it does not refund the charge, though it can move the membership to a new account; a deleted account can't be restored.
The free trial
Some plans start with a free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, you become a subscriber and your payment method is charged; cancel during the trial and the paid features stop when it ends. Each account gets one free trial.
3-year, 6-year and lifetime plans
The 3-year and 6-year plans are one payment with no automatic renewal, sold only on LingoDeer's website, so there is nothing to cancel. LingoDeer no longer sells lifetime memberships; those already bought keep full lifetime access to the Premium courses.
After you cancel
- You keep the Premium content until the end of the period you paid for, and are not charged again.
- After that the account stays, with LingoDeer's free content: its help pages name the alphabet and the first unit of each course.
Getting money back
- The annual, 3-year and 6-year plans bought on LingoDeer's website have a 7-day money-back guarantee: cancel, then ask within 7 calendar days of the membership starting by emailing [email protected] with your LingoDeer user ID or account email and how you paid. LingoDeer allows one such request per person.
- Otherwise it does not refund part-used periods, accidental renewals or renewal charges. A refund goes back to the original payment method and can take up to 14 days.
- Bought in the App Store or Google Play: Apple and Google take refund requests for their stores.
