How to cancel ELSA Speak
Cancel ELSA Speak where you paid: in your iPhone's Settings, under your name and Subscriptions; in Google Play, under your subscriptions; or, for a plan bought on ELSA's website, by emailing [email protected] at least one business day before it renews. Deleting the app does not cancel. ELSA refunds a website purchase if you ask within 7 days; Apple and Google decide refunds for their stores.
Where did you subscribe?
In your iPhone's or iPad's settings (paid in the App Store)
- In Settings, tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap ELSA Speak.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. If there is no Cancel button, or an expiry message shows in red, the subscription is already cancelled.
ELSA says it cannot cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions for you, and that deleting the app cancels nothing. These are Apple's steps.
In Google Play (paid on Android)
- On your Android phone or tablet, go to your subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select ELSA Speak.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the instructions.

- Email [email protected] at least one business day before the plan renews.
- Give the email address of your ELSA account and the receipt of your payment.

Trials, vouchers and lifetime plans
The 7-day free trial
ELSA gives 7 days of every lesson free, with no card needed. Its FAQ warns that a 7-day trial started in the App Store or Google Play renews into a 3-month subscription if you don't cancel it.
A voucher code doesn't cancel a store subscription
Redeeming an ELSA voucher code does not stop an App Store or Google Play subscription you already have: cancel that one yourself, or it renews and charges you.
Lifetime membership
ELSA sells lifetime memberships only on its own website and its official partners' websites, so you won't find one in the app's store subscriptions.
After you cancel
- If you turn off the renewal, your plan stays active until the end of the term you have paid for.
Getting money back
- Bought on ELSA's website: ELSA refunds any charge if you ask [email protected] within 7 days of the purchase. The money goes back to your original payment method and takes about 30 business days.
- Bought in the App Store or Google Play: ELSA cannot refund these. Ask Apple or Google, who decide each request under their own policies.
