How to cancel Dinolingo
Cancel Dinolingo where you subscribed: on the website, log in and go to Dashboard, then Settings, then Manage Subscription; paid with PayPal, remove Dinolingo from your PayPal automatic payments; subscribed in the app, cancel in your iPhone's settings or in Google Play. Deleting the app does not cancel. Do it before the renewal date: Dinolingo refunds no web payment once it is charged, though you keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
Where did you subscribe?
On the Dinolingo website (paid by card)
- Log in to your Dinolingo account.
- Go to Dashboard, then Settings.
- Click Manage Subscription.
- Cancel your subscription there, before the next renewal date.
Keep Dinolingo's cancellation email: without it, Dinolingo treats the subscription as not cancelled. Card subscriptions can also be cancelled in the Stripe customer portal its help page links to.
In PayPal (paid with PayPal on the website)
- Go to PayPal's automatic payments page (paypal.com/myaccount/autopay).
- Select Dinolingo from your active subscriptions.
- Scroll down and click Remove PayPal as a payment method.
- Click Remove to confirm.
In your iPhone's or iPad's settings (subscribed in the Dinolingo iOS app)
- In Settings, tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Dinolingo.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. If there is no Cancel button, or an expiry message shows in red, the subscription is already cancelled.
Dinolingo says an app subscription must be cancelled on the device you subscribed on; these are Apple's steps.
In Google Play (subscribed in the Dinolingo Android app)
- On your Android phone or tablet, go to your subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select Dinolingo.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the instructions.
These are Google's steps; uninstalling the app does not cancel.
The free trial, gifts and schools
The 7-day free trial
A trial started on the website is charged exactly 7 days after it began, to the minute, so cancel before then. In the App Store or Google Play the charge can land on the trial's last day because of time zones; Apple and Google advise cancelling at least 24 hours before it ends. Each customer gets one trial: subscribe again with the same email and you are charged at once.
A gift or a school subscription
These are set up by hand, so email Dinolingo to cancel. A yearly gift subscription is refunded in full if the buyer asks within 7 days of buying it.
Charged after cancelling
Look for the cancellation email first. If you have it, send it with Dinolingo's Billing Assistance Form; you may have a second subscription under another email address. If you never got one, the subscription was not cancelled: log in and cancel it.
After you cancel
- You keep full access until the end of the month or year you have paid for, and no further charges are made.
- Dinolingo has no pause: to take a break, cancel and subscribe again later.
- A subscription can be cancelled only where it was bought: not a website one through Apple or Google, nor an app one on the website.
Getting money back
- Dinolingo refunds no payment made on its website, by card or PayPal, once it is charged: not after a trial you forgot to cancel, not after a renewal you did not use, and not if you cancel minutes after the charge.
- A yearly gift subscription is refunded in full if the buyer asks within 7 days of buying it.
- Subscribed in the app: Apple or Google decides, not Dinolingo.
